The documentary film Dreaming in Black and White: Portrait of a Singapore Artist—Tang Ling Nah takes the audience on a journey into the artist Tang Ling Nah’s inner world—her memories, dreams and angels, and her fascination with black-and-white media, drawing charcoal and the city’s transitional spaces. It straddles fact and fiction through interviews, conversations, dance and animation segments. It highlights her courage to pursue her dream to be an artist, the choices she has made, as well as the challenges of being a woman artist in Singapore. The film ultimately celebrates the importance of having a dream, and the courage to make our dreams come true and to keep dreams alive.
